No, don’t look for recipes– not yet. I’m a photographer and the best way for me to share food I like is through my photos. I am still learning how to cook and when it’s not that embarrassing anymore, i will share with you my kitchen blunders –and then, you can learn from my mistakes.
I am also a budding jewelry designer, and a blogger as well–but really, professionally speaking, I’m paid to do different stuff. From concept to designs to organizing specials events or workshops.
Sometimes I do odd little jobs because of little odd happenings (ehe!) e.g. cleaning my friend’s condo unit to secretly pay for my truck’s repair when I accidentally smashed it to someone else’s SUV. Sometimes I do jobs because its fun. There are times I am in a project because I got dragged in. The main criteria for me to delve in would be if I find it interesting.
Currently, I am looking for a secret job so I can buy my own motorcycle so Ate Neng doesn’t bitch at me for overspending.
I have my own little photography studio in Davao but I travel for my clients around the Philippines and Asia. I will be completing my MA in photography next year in Savannah College for Arts and Design.
Whilst photography allows me to travel, my business in jewelry pays for my caprices. I export to the US and I sell statement jewelries online that’s made out of mother of pearl, gemstones, crystals, etc. I do jewelry wiring myself but I have a jeweler to make my silver pieces and beaders for my bib jewelry. My penchant in jewelry, I think, came from my mom…my love for photography was something I developed when I worked as a communications and cultural officer in an NGO.
I am an active organizer/volunteer of Pens of Hope, a group that collects school supplies to distribute to kids in public schools, and Empowered Filipina, a project that helps Filipinas uplift their image of themselves through self esteem workshops and other similar activities that engages them in the fashion business industry as entrepreneurs and designers…
I also support Blog for Peace, a blogging project that talks of peace in its different forms of justice.
I’m 27, my close friends call me Lay, but in the blogging world, they call me 13thWiTCH.
My favorite Food Blogs.
- EZ.Yummy by Kathy Dacanay – the girl loves pizza, so expect a lot of pizza talk in this food blog.
- Eat’s Terrific by Orman Manansala – who best can talk about food but someone who would spend almost a Php100,000 pesos on a cooking set?! This guy rules in finding fab places to dine…and in everything else. He is the famous personality behind Ganda Ever So Much whom everyone run to for tips on how to mend a broken heart to strike schedules in Gen San and out.
- Kusina Maria by Ria Jose – the Dyosa Blogger of Davao City and soon the Philippines who can cook her way in any man’s heart.
